On the 19 of April 1775 at Lexincton and then at Concord.The British were marching from Boston to Concord to destroy American weapons and at Lexincton they encountered Minutemen, someone shot, a "shot heard around the world", some Americans died in the battle, then at Concord the British lost a considerable number of people and had to withdraw.Well actually this is not really where the first battle took place... :) :0 sorry whoever said this!!!
