Lawrence developed a keen understanding of irregular military strategy & tactics as well as exceptional insight into Arab aspirations and customs. A gifted writer, he somewhat overplayed his own part in the revolt, later portrayed in similarly epic terms in a 1962 film.

Lawrence of Arabia was a British officer. He is best remembered for organizing the Arab rebellion against the Turks. I read a letter posted now on the internet the above wrote to the newspapers in the 1920s about the situation in Iraq. Talk about what goes around comes around.......
