It is difficult to compare wealth of people who lived many years apart because of inflation and the changing value of land. Recall, for example, that the Louisiana Purchase price was 3 cents an acre in 1803. and, of course would be worth trillions today. Also, a person's wealth changes. For example, Bill Clinton was not at all rich when he graduated college, but now is worth several millions and still making good money.
George Washington was considered the richest president by Forbes. If you are asking who had the most money in this era then it would be Lyndon Johnson followed by John Kennedy with George H. W. Bush not far behind.
