I assume you are talking about the Patriots from the American Revolution. Their leader was George Washington, who led them to victory and later was elected the first president of the new nation of the United States of America.

∙ 11y agoGeorge Washington was appointed Commander-in-Chief (a military rank) by the Second Continental Congress on June 15, 1775 and served in the position throughout the war. He resigned his position effective December 23, 1783.

Assuming that you mean those campaigning for American Independence as patriots, Sam Adams is the man you are looking for.

The patriots and loyalists technically fought during the Revolutionary war. Although the war was mostly patriots vs Britain, the loyalists and patriots fought. One example Is Kings Mountain.
There were two actually. They are Lexington and Concord.

The Patriots moved to Foxboro Ma after the 1970 season. Before the move they were known as the Boston Patriots. After moving out of Boston proper to the suburbs the owners of the Patriots decided to change the name to the New England Patriots in order to try to grow their fan base in the New England Region instead of just concentrating on the fan base in Boston.
A fan vote was undertaken when the club was founded in 1959 and votes favored the name Patriots. They were the Boston Patriots until moving from Boston to Foxboro in 1971.
I assume by Patriots you mean the New England Patriots of the National Football league. In 1959, the team was introduced as the Boston Patriots but in 1971 the team was relocated to Foxborough, Massachusetts where they were renamed as the New England Patriots. This is the same name that the team uses today.
