John Adams

got caught swimming naked in the potomac river by a woman reporter

It wasn't John Adams, it was his son, John Quincy Adams. The event with the woman reporter was that she wouldn't give him his clothes until he agreed to an exclusive interview.

John Quincy Adams (6th president) used to go skinny dipping in the Potomac River near the White House. One time he reportedly could not find his clothes when he got out. I don't know whether somebody took them or if he could not remember where he left them.

John Q, Adams and John Kennedy both swam regularly for exercise. There may have been others who swam.

Calvin Coolidge, Herbert Hoover, Franklin Roosevelt and Jimmy Carter were all fond of fishing. Truman and George H. W. Bush fished occasionally.

John Quincy Adams enjoyed this pastime. He swam in the nude , leaving his clothes on the bank. Once he was embarrassed because somebody carried off his clothes while he was swimming.
