Why horseback riding was invented?

Clancey Smith began horse riding. For many, many years, his horse riding ideas became more and more popular. Clancey was a legend. People have ridden horses since basically ancient times it would be nearly impossible to say for sure who was the one that did it first

Horseback riding was possibly never invented, but instead it was seen as a means to travel from place to place. I may be wrong, but what i say here is only a theory.
