America is considerd to be better than other countries because of the endless opportunities to freely pursue business, education, and religion without the threat of militant armies invading and destroying the freedoms available.

A non-American's answer... In other countries, it's unlikely that the United States is considered "better", and there is significant animosity around the world regarding some of its actions. This is usual for any country, however, and no one ever says a country is better than their own!

Everyone talks about how terrible this country is and how more and more people are being murdered everyday and all these evil people doing horrible things. But it is still a good county to live in. I am not going to say America is perfect either. Every country is corrupt in many ways and America is no acceptation. Even though America is filled with sin when we compare it to any other country it seems very good. For one America is a free country when it comes to religion, speech, and press. America also has a government that is superior in form to all others. Finally America does not stand by and let our allies be tormented by other countries. When most people here free they think it is there right to do whatever they want but in reality laws provide limits. I believe that the rights that the government set while our Founding Fathers were establishing this country are sufficient for living a Christ-like life as an American. Small amendments should be made to accommodate changes and advances in society but none of which should surpass the original intent of the Founding Fathers and above all else God's Law in the Bible. These are the original rights that were given to us when we are born if you were born in America.First Amendment - Establishment clause, freedom of religion, speech, and press, and peaceable assembly as well as the right to petition the government. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Second Amendment - Right to keep and bear arms. A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. Third Amendment - Protection from quartering of troops. No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law. Fourth Amendment - Protection from unreasonable search and seizure. The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. Fifth Amendment - Due process, double jeopardy, self-incrimination, eminent domain. No person shall be held to answer for any capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation. Sixth Amendment - Trial by jury and other rights of the accused. In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district where in the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defense. Seventh Amendment - Civil trial by jury. In suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise reexamined in any court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law. Eighth Amendment - Prohibition of excessive bail, as well as cruel and unusual punishment. Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted. Ninth Amendment - Protection of rights not specifically enumerated in the Bill of Rights. The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people. Tenth Amendment - Powers of states and people. The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.-The First Ten Amendments to the ConstitutionThese original rights of American citizens do not need to be changed or removed from the constitution.Second our government has proved to be the most obstinate to tyranny. In a Monarchy the King already has too much power which is what causes tyranny. In Communism the Government has all the power and tyrannizes its citizens. In America we have a Democracy which gives the people power to control the Government so there is no chance of tyranny. Even though we see our government trying to gain more power over us there are laws still in place that prevent them from doing such things. We can thank our Founding Fathers for that.Finally our country is good because we do not tyrannize other countries we help them. We supply them with food and water and help them when they are being tyrannized. Do Americans think they're better than the British?

The majority of Americans do not hate the British and do not think they are better than them, but there will always be the prideful few who do think America is better, just like in Britain where a few think they are better than the Americans. Americans actually find some of the British's culture and mannerisms fascinating and interesting. Most Americans have a more mature view of the world than this, though like all countries there are nationalist elements who see all other countries as inferior to their own.


Why are titles of nobility prohibited?

America was built on the idea of every man being equal, no one is better than the other. Handing out titles of nobility will defeat the purpose because this will make the person look more important than everyone else.

Mainly two reasons: 1) So the leader can convince the world that he was so loved by his people that he was elected. 2) So the country can trade with other countries that prefer to trade with democratic countries. What is interesting is that there is a tacit understanding that democracies are better than autocracies.
