It is important to b an informed citizen especially if you are over the age of 18 simply because you can help make decisions for your government. You can express your opinion by voting for who you believe is the best qualified to lead the country and even help make decisions in your local government.

do ur own hwwIn a Republic such as the United States: the citizens duties are to pay taxes, vote, and (voluntarily) serve in the Military. Part of voting to keep informed on issues that relate to you, and to fact-check and confirm information from suspect sources (most cable news).
It probably would be good. Citizens should not be citizens without knowing how their country was made.
