Why would it be a bad idea for kids to vote? I can understand politics! We should be able to have our voice's heard by voting. The government doesn't care about us. OK so maybe a little, but they don't care a whole lot. We are always pushed aside. no because kids dont know anything about who is supposed to run the country. one bad vote can put america in danger
* citizens should vote ----* have a good education ----and ---- * obey the laws! ----
sufferagette sufferagette Women do not have to earn the right to vote, we are all born with the right to vote. It's up to governments to guarantee the right to vote to their citizens. If they don't, they're bad governments and should be changed.
In the United States, African Americans were not effectively guaranteed the right to vote until 1965. Although in some places, blacks were allowed to vote long before the passage of the Voting Rights Act; and during one period (immediately after the Civil War), blacks were allowed to vote even in the deep South.
I think that teenagers could vote because they are older and more experienced. I don't think that kids under the age of 13 should vote because they are too young, inexperienced, half the time they don't know what's going on, it's boring, and sometimes they have better things to do. ------------------- Yes, I think that if you are 13, maybe even younger, if you know what's going on in the country you should be aloud to vote. Is this a free country? Why are children treated like slaves sometimes? Why can't they vote if they want to? "ALL men are created equal", and we have "unalienable Rights" and "whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, IT IS THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE TO ALTER OR TO ABOLISH IT" This government has never let children vote, it is our right to alter that. We have the rights, "and among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." I won't be happy until I can vote before I turn 18. Are children under 18 citizens of the USA? Yes, if the go out and buy something they'll have to pay sales tax. So why can't we vote?

Only kids could vote.
No. People must be a legal adult, or 18 years of age, to vote
If kids were allowed to vote, it would only take a few minutes and their homework would not get in the way of their voting.
The same reason they can't anywhere. children are not mature enough to understand politics or the repercussions of a poor vote. They are also quite dependent on their parents' opinions, and would be easily convinced to vote for a party or official simply because "mother/father told me to".
