The patriots were important because the cared for their country. But, most of all they had put so much hard work, sweat, and tears into making a success out of a part of the world that belonged to someone else.
The patriots realized that England was only using them for their own personal profit, and power. King George the III, and Parliament only saw the people who lived in America, not as human beings, but as servants, and puppets that they could control anyway they wanted.
These American patriots, fought and died for the freedom, rights, and privileges that we, who are citizens in the United States of America now enjoy. Including the rights of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

the loyalists and the patriots were important cause if they hadn't of fought then something else after that would have never happened because every thing happens 4 a reason :)
the Patriots' decisive victory at Kings Mountain, South Carolina
I believe the most important factor was their foreign help, from Spain and France. Without the help, the Patriots wouldn't have stood too much of a chance.
Lord Cornwallis was a very important british commander. He led a fight into the patriots in South Carolina. He was going to destroy all the patriots but was tricked and ambushed. The Patriots ran him out of South Carolina and in to Yorktown where he surrendered and he was the main reason Britain lost the revolutionary war
Loyalists and patriots were all Americans however, loyalists supported Brittan and patriots were all for America
Battle of Trenton
