women wanted the right to vote

by TORI TABB

The main leaders of the Seneca Falls Declaration were Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Lucretia Mott. At a meeting in 1848, a group of women and male supporters brought attention to the cause of women by using the ideology of the American Revolution. The Declaration condemned the entire structure of inequality that denied women access to education and employment. Stanton, author of the Declaration, based it off of the Declaration of Independence but just added women to all of the rights.
