∙ 11y agoVery good question. Well, i have just recently learned how Ancient Greece is different. Firstly, it is a totally different country and Greece has many different... um strategies you could say than Mesopotamia. Sorry that's all i got.

∙ 6y agoIreek geography is defined by mountains with small rivers and seacoast, with pockets of arable land of generally poor quality. River valleys in Mesopotamia and Egypt had extensive flood plains replenished by the silt from annual flooding.

∙ 6y agoGreece had limited land in river valleys amongst high mountains and each city-state faced over-population problems leading to their sending the surplus to take new land around the Mediterranean and Black Sea littorals and establish their own city-state. The river valleys of Mesopotamia, Egypt, India and China had extensive alluvial plains which enabled prosperous agriculture.
