Religous( big part in their culture) i lived in epypt prettty much half my life and we used to fast for 30days in the holymonth of Ramadan and we would celebrate 3 days of eid afterwards(eid el fitr)

the answer is the mouth ceremony it is a ceremony that makes them walk and talk in the after life the priests use the book of the dead to do spells during the ceremony
