The ancient Egyptians were mostly farmers.They farmed along the bank of Nile cause the Nile Valley has plenty of sunshine and water.it is suitable for farming.during July to September,the Nile would flood and left a layer of alluvial soil on the bank.Farmers would grow crops on the layer of fertile land after flooded.They also invented many farming tools such as shaduf,sickle and plough,aslo building reservoirs and canals.

Fishing and trading:

Fishermens fished along Red Sea,Mediterranean Sea, and Nile with spears and nets.Merchants sold leather,paper,pottery,jewellery to traders from other places.They would also import goods like ivory,honey and timbers.

Other methods:

Some ancient Egytians would grew grapes and barley to make wine beer.Also craftsmen who made pottery and jewellery has a higher social status than farmers.
