A few of the primary ideas of the Enlightenment that everyone should remember include the rights to life, liberty and property. john Locke and others strove to convince the people that they needed to take part in their government lest they be taken advantage of, that education must be made available to all, as well as the opportunity to speak their mind without fear of prosecution.
