Okay, here's the story:
Nero was the adopted son of Claudius. Agrippina (his mother) loved him very much and poisoned Claudius so Nero could have the throne. After his father's death, Agrippina never let Nero forget the debt he owed her for making him emperor, which annoyed Nero greatly, for she made it sound as if she was the only he reason he was emperor. (which is kinda true.) I'm not sure how he killed his mother, but that's why he did. :)
He actually tried to kill her 3 separate times. The first two attempts were obviously unsuccessful. He tried to drown her by supplying her a leaky boat, then gave her an unsteady bed made to collapse on her. He finally hired an assassin to club her to death.
Actually, he lit his moms house on fire starting The Great Fire of Rome.
Nero killed his mother because she had grown too powerful and was threatening him. His mother, Agrippina the Younger, had accumulated power through her marriage to Claudius and her initial good relationships with Nero. Many influential people owed their fortunes to her and most importantly, she controlled the Praetorian guard. When Nero and Agrippina had a falling out, she, like her own mother before her, could not keep her big mouth shut and she suffered the consequences, just like her own mother.

According to Tacitus, Nero had his mother Agrippina clubbed to death by two men in her villa. Nero had tried to kill his mother before. He sent her on a trip on a damaged ship which was meant to sink. However, Agrippina was able to swim back to shore. Men who were sent to make sure she died killed another woman by mistake while the two women were swimming in the sea. Once back on shore she informed her son that she had survived.
Nero did not kill his living baby, she died of natural causes. He killed his wife while she was pregnant by kicking her probably in the stomach and so killed her and the unborn child.

Well I actually know the answer to this question because I know two slaves that were around under his reign. Yes their dead now, kind of, but you just gotta trust me. He wasn't gay exactly. But he defiantly was bi-sexual. Also he was into bestiality, animals / animal skins. He was also into incest, doing many things to his mother.
