Nero was certainly NOT deified after death. In fact as with Gaius statues of him were defiled and destroyed and the Senate had declared him a public enemy just prior to his demise. He considered himself a God during his life and demanded homage be paid to him but it made no lasting effect on the Imperial Cult as he was so unpopular through most of his reign and at his downfall.
