The chores that went on in the castle depended on what your rank was as to how many chores you got and what type they were. The men peasants had to farm the land, sow and plant the seeds, fetch water, weed everything and mow lawns for people. There were other sort of DIY jobs like repairing fences, getting wood and mending tools. The women peasants would do things like sowing, cooking and cleaning and usually took care of the poultry and dairy. The peasant children would help their parents as soon as they are old enough.
The lord of the manor would have his servants to do his bidding, however, even very high ranking ladies were expected to produce some of the cloth used in the house they live in and to devote some of their time to spinning and weaving.
