Women didn't have much freedom and there are many reasons for that. Peasant women especially struggled with middle ages. For starters they couldn't go to school so they never had an education instead they had to stay home and help their parents with the chores like harvesting the crops.

Women lost even more freedom when she got married because this was when the husband started taking charge of the family. The women would now have to do more jobs and the husband would get always get payed about 2 pence more for whatever job he did even though he worked less.
