The Sudetanland, an area of Czechoslovakia populated by Germans. The Germans the occupied the rest of Czechoslovakia & Poland was next on the list. The British & French objected to this and as a result declared war on Germany in September of 1939. The rest is history.... Neville Chamberlain had returned to Britain after the Munich Agreement with a 'Piece of Paper' declaring 'Peace in our time'.... I suppose this was possibly the most grave misjudgment in history, but that does not mean hat Chamberlain was wrong to try to avoid war. The real problem was that both Britain & France were wholly unprepared for what ensued.
