South Vietnamese military personnel (ARVN's mostly) had to be very careful about hating their government. Getting "pinned with the label VC" was not to be taken lightly by ANYONE in South Vietnam. Frontier justice could be administered just about anytime by anyone...as the news media found out during a "certain execution" caught on film, and shown world wide; in 1968.
