If the question is asking about the Civil War battle with the highest death toll, I believe it was the Battle of Antietam.
It didn't. Michael Montagne
The social and economic battles fought during the civil war began with the Souths dependence on slave labor. Their economy depended on the good picked and farmed by the slave. The end of slavery threatened that way of life.
Slaves either fought or worked on farms in the civil war.
life was pretty suckish for African Americans during the civil war Slaves during the Civil War worked on Plantations under the leadership of a master. Slavery was harsh during this time and was known as a "necessary evil." Slaves were used to pick a lot of goods in order to mass produce goods in the Northern factories, therefore they worked hard and long. Slaves were usually separated from their family. They also had limited amount of clothing and were usually not free to practice their own customs and religions unless they had a lenient slave master, which was extremely rare. Also, if a slave was lucky to have a lenient slave master, then if they had enough money saved up, it was possible to buy their freedom; but this was also very rare.

Harriet Tubman committed her life to her country despite her being a runaway slave. She ran away from captivity before the Civil War. She made many trips back to the slave supporting south before this war. During the Civil war Tubman served as a spy for the Union. She also tried her best to betterwomen's lives. She was a Women's Rights promoter.
