The Vietnam War is portrayed in a number of different films. In each, the war is depicted as consistently brutal and emotionally traumatizing to the people fighting in it.
"The Deer Hunter" may have been filmed in Thailand; "Apocalypse Now" and "Platoon" were probably filmed in the Philippines.

Q who was the victor of the Vietnam war? A I have no idea who won the Vietnam war!!!!
No, the Vietnam War was in Vietnam
A military officer that fought in the Vietnam War. A Vietnam War soldier would be a "soldier that fought in the Vietnam War.
Vietnam is not generally known for inventing something. The world generally never heard of Vietnam until the war broke out heavily after the Tonkin Gulf incident, which would make that around 1964. So if it invented anything, it invented the "Vietnam War" and all the books and Hollywood movies (Platoon, Apocalypse Now, Full Metal Jacket, Deer Hunter, etc.) that went with it.

The Vietnam War movie titled "Platoon" was fairly accurate. But the primary reason for that was because the director of the movie, Oliver Stone, had served in the 25th Infantry Division (depicted in the movie), fought in Vietnam, and experienced some of the actions depicted on the screen; as well as going thru the experiences of the charactor portrayed by actor Charly Sheen. Many, if not most, movie directors have not been in a war. That lack of experience will be reflected in their movies.
The Green Berets , Full Metal Jacket , Go Tell The Spartans ~ see list below. Of note is this: The Green Berets was the first film about the Vietnam War.

Contemporary literature during the last quarter of the 20th century, also meant films (movies), as movies are more often than not taken from a book. Opposition to the Vietnam War portrayed in contemporaty literature/films was attempting to be realistic by showing both sides of the war. The lierature/film would show the typical American family, then broken up by the induction of the husband, brother, or son, then the opposition from neighbors and friends, with "selected few" friends, who supported the drafted main charactor in the film, and supported the American cause. Hollywood made films such as "Born On the Fourth of July" about a Viet Vet returning in a wheel chair and becoming an anti-war veteran against the war and trying to get medical relief for wounded returning veterans. "Jacobs Ladder" in which the US military had experimented with GI's with medical experimental drugs in Vietnam. A Viet War movie starring the late John Ritter concerned him in Vietnam in which he became contaminated with AGENT ORANGE. The DEER HUNTER tried to show what can happen when a tight net immigrant family in America tries to remain united together in Vietnam, but become separated, and they return to Vietnam to get their friend back. Korean War, WWII, and WWI films were often pretty clear about what the objective was, namely fight 'em and try to win, GOOD GUY VERSES BAD BUY. Vietnam War films were concerned with controversy.
