I'm from Denmark, it took 1-2 days because Denmark never wished to fight back, although they could have, it was uneccesary. Although the message didn't reach whole Denmark, so there was a small fight.

From what I have read, it only took one day for Germany to occupy Denmark. The reasons why is because it isn't very large, not in a very good defensive position, and it largely disarmed it's army prior to the war.

Denmark was occupied as a result of Weserubung, the invasion of Norway. This is in April 1940. It would remain so until 1945.
