They were basically treated as unloyal to the country, since they were from Germany. They were either looked as to be too sympathetic of the war, or possible spies for the Germans. They were mainly not trusted. Some were fired, jailed, or injured on a daily bases.

there was alot of racism and some of the black soilders always dug the trenches and were sent over first - isn't that disgusting

In WW1 anyone who wasn't a white male was not allowed to fight in the war, at first, eventually, blacks were allowed in the war, and a couple other groups of people

Yes, particularly on the eastern front, but more because of Russian government policies that had begun in the 1880s. Wave after wave of pogroms swept through Russia between 1880 and 1920, apparently with the tacit support of the goverenment. One official said that this should force 1/3 of the Jews to flee the country, kill 1/3 and force the remainder to assimilate. During the war, and the Russian revolution, whenever a Russian army unit (Tzarist or Red) entered a town, significant numbers of Jews died and it was quite common for the majority of the women to be abused. Were it not for the fact that most of the survivors of this abuse were murdered in the Holocaust, we would hear more about this black era today.
