The Red Cross was the only way there was for an Allied POW to receive a package but was rarely received due to the breakdown of the normal means of sending a package such as through the mail since the war devastated the infrastructure of nations at war as well as being pilfered by enemy troops .

Where were the POW's taken after the battle at Kasserine Pass during WW2?

My Uncle was a POW for 23 months. He told me in approximately 1981 that he was captured behind enemy lines shortly before the battle. Even though he was enlisted he was sent to OFLAG 64 in Poland. He spent approximately 23 months there before they were marched to Germany during the winter.
