How has a nation's economic strength become as important as its military power in foreign policy?

A nation cannot protect it's economic strength without a equally strong military. Nations of the free world during the cold war that had strong economic strength but weak or no militaries were successful...only because the US military protected them.

Would powerful nations or weak natiosn be more likely to follow an isolantionist policy?

It is safe to say that a weak nation is more likely to follow an isolationist policybecause a powerful nation, for the example the usa, is an imperialist nation that has the tendency to trade and interact with other societies in order to become a world power. Trade is essential because if you are an isolationist nation that does not have favorable geographic features(japan, mountains, high population density, etc) YOU NEED TO TRADE IN ORDER To ensure that you get the natural resources to sustain a society. Japan lacked iron so it needed to acquire it so prior to WW2, they invaded an other nation relying on it's natural resources to wage a war against the Usa. So the trading concept is similar Basically we need to rely on other nations to provide several resources that our geography disables us from getting.

What was the breakout in World War 2?

WW2 mainly started because Germany took advantage of taking over countrys or u can say colonies, this was let by france and britian who did nothink but just sit and act innocent. afterall they needed to be strong if they wanted to go in war with germany, but they were not that strong enough after ww1 when they were really badly heat and lost alot of money and soldiers. Britian and france only did this because the country was very weak and didnt grow that quick they were still repairing. they were bein nice to germany only because they wanted peace and they wasnt really strong enough to go in war. britain made a promise that it will protect poland fronm any danger and germany thought that the two great allies (britain and france)wont do anythink but britain did react to this and this is what led to war. thankz bye :)
