What was Germany attempting to accomplish by returning to its policy of unrestricted submarine warfare?

During World War I, Germany's goal in returning to unrestricted submarine warfare in 1917 was, quite simply, to bring the long war to a quick end. Realizing that this decision could bring war with the United States, German leaders calculated that their submarines would end the war before American involvement could make a difference.

Can cadets be sent to war?

This is a common misconception. the Army Cadet Force is a voluntary youth organisation, at no time will you be 'called to war'. There is also no obligation to join the Army after you leave the cadets, the Army Cadet Force is NOT a recruiting tool for the British Army. actually it is a recruiting tool because a certain percentage come from the cadets.

Did world war 2 end when the Holocaust ended?

No. The holocaust was not discovered, or truly realized until after the fall of Germany. (more over the capitulation of Germany) The camps were discovered a few at a time during the war, but the full grizzly meaning and impact the camps made wasn't fully realized until after the war. Of course, the camps ended with the end of the Nazi Germany, but it wasn't the direct, or indirect cause of the war ending, it was a "tool" of war. ___ The holocaust killings finally stopped at the same time as the war in Europe. However, many of the remaining prisoners were desperately ill and deaths from disease continued for several weeks.
