After the Second World War, Germany was taken over by American and Russia, who became enemies when arguing over how Germany should be run. The President of Russia, Joseph Stalin believed in Germany being a communist country while the President of America believed in it not. This arguing was called the Cold War. America started to hate Russia, which was a communist country, and therefore hate communism. They also hated Russia because it was a Dictatorship. This hatred of communism was encouraged by a man called Joseph Mc Carthy. America joined part of Vietnam in fighting against communism by fighting against another part of Vietnam, afraid that something called the Domino theory would make America a communist country. The President of America who declared the Vietnam War, John Kennedy was assinated but the war was continued by the new President, Lyndon Johnson. America lost the war but did not become a communist country. However, people felt very betrayed, traumatised and regretful about fighting in the Vietnam War and Johnson became unpopular and lost his next election.

The causes of the Vietnam War was the threat of communism expanding all over southeast Asia. During the Cold War, Russia and the US could not afford an all-out war with each other. The Americans fought in Vietnam, and Russia sent aid and arms to China, who fought against the Americans in Vietnam.
The cold war caused the Vietnam War. The Atom Bomb created the cold war. If there had been no atomic bombs, there would have been no cold war. If there had been no cold war, the US may not have been involved in Vietnam in the first place. If the US had been involved, the US would have declared (total) war and defeated North Vietnam just like the US (allies) defeated Japan/Germany in WW2.
Q who was the victor of the Vietnam war? A I have no idea who won the Vietnam war!!!!
No, the Vietnam War was in Vietnam
A military officer that fought in the Vietnam War. A Vietnam War soldier would be a "soldier that fought in the Vietnam War.
President Johnson took the war to NORTH Vietnam with aerial warfare. We couldn't invade NORTH Vietnam (without consequences from the communist superpowers), but we could bomb it! We dropped more bombs on North Vietnam than we did in all of WW2! One must bear in mind, that a Vietnam War B-52 could carry 108 bombs. A WW2 bomber could only carry 17 bombs.
