The Nazis were tried in a international court after World War two. Some were sentenced to prisons, some escaped, some became scientists in other countries, some were hung, and some Nazis escaped trial. You will be able to read about the Nuremberg Trials.
___________
I take it that by Nazis you mean Nazi war criminals, not ordinary Party members.
The vast majority of Nazi war criminals were never tried or punished and 'lived happily ever after'.

The major ones that were still alive at the end of the war and who didn't hide or escape were caught and put on trial for war crimes. The Nuremberg war crimes trial took several years. In the meantime they have also been "hunted" and found in the places where they hid/escaped. Today, every so often, one is found. There was a guard found in the US a few years ago, put on trial, and deported. These men are now in their late 70's-80's and dying.

Relatively few camp guards were put on trial. Many returned to Germany, changed their names, got denazification certificates and 'lived happily ever after'. Some of those caught did deals with the Allies, such as Klaus Barbie.
They were treated harshly immediately, being given very limited rations, where millions died of starvation. Soon there were attempts to find the people guilty of crimes, then to find the evidence to convict them.
Only a few of the perpetrators were punished. Please see the related question (link below).
Yes. War trials were held and many were put to death or prison. Some escaped and went to other countries. They are still being hunted today for their crimes.
A few were punished, but the majority 'lived happily ever after', in some cases under changed names.
The problem is whether the perpetrators are willing to recognize another holocaust as it is forming and occurring. For example, many people point out that the 50 million abortions (just in the U.S.) qualifies as another holocaust. But the perceived benefit (casual sex without responsibility) is so seductive and addictive that the perpetrators would not seriously consider its status as a holocaust.
Considering most of the world were bystanders to the Holocaust, this would excuse the actions of those who perpetrated the Holocaust and those who enabled it. So no, you cannot say that they were.
Some of the perpetrators were put on trial, convicted and hanged. However, many changed their names, etc and 'lived happily ever after'.
They did nothing until their advancing forces actually over-ran the camps.
during world war 2 most major countries were effected. during the holocaust people of Jewish heritage were affected. also prisoners of war were taken and given similar treatment to those of whom were Jewish or of Jewish heritage.
