A lot of people die all the time at war, though if that were true for people in general, the human population would die out in less than a minute.

When I volunteered to go to a peacekeeping operation, I saw that more people died on highways every weekend in a nearby country, than in a war near where I was to peacekeep.

On the other hand, if you are in tanks like I was, I have heard about a statistic, that the average time to live in the field of a tank battle is 15 minutes. So there you go. That's the average.

Of service members on duty at any particular time, some will be sent into a combat zone, others will not. Obviously that is the biggest factor. Of those who went to Vietnam, about 98% came back alive. If anybody has more up-to-date numbers, please add what you know.

If you are hit by something explosive, your chances of living are very low.

Also, it depends on the army, the solider, the weapons, and the area.

Not Very high... You would be more likely to die in a car crash. It does of course depend on the mission or job you are doing. Hope this answers your question!

that depends on what you do in the army for example there is a smaller chance that you will sacrifice your life out in the battle field than if your are a doctor in the army
