They were used for blasting people out of trenches.
they fought in the trenches ww1 was known as a war in the trenches
a battalion runner was a solider in the world wars who ran messages from the main office (which where behind the trenches) to the front of the trenches where the message would then be passed down the rest of the trenches. this was a very dangerous job and many people died fact - Hitler was a very successful battalion runner in ww1
British trenches were miserable; people lived under constant threat of being hit by gunfire or exploding shells. Disease was also rampant, as soldiers had little protection from cold and rain.
Trenches in WWI extended about 400 miles.
200,000
It probably sucked...they were in trenches...and trenches collect water...people in the trenches were at risk of getting trench foot...and there were trench rats too....try sleeping in a cold damp muddy hole :)
The trenches were called saps and the people who dug them were called sappers.
is A
in WW1 thay lved in trenches to be protected from attacks from bombs and grenades thrown by the enemey. the earth trenches hid them as well as making it harder for bombs to harm them
blocks are placed in trenches so as if the opponents attack they have to jump over and that would distract them so you people can attack them

Reserve trenches were used as supplies for the trenches out the front. In world war one, they had come up with a technique of hiding in trenches before they fight. To do this properly, they had made them zig-zags. The trenches on the front line were where the soldiers would fight from. Reserve trenches were used in case these people had anything happen to them and they needed to use more trenches and more men. Throughout the war, the conditions of the front line trenches became worse as the communication and reserve trenches improved. I hope that helped :)

Routine was so important in WW1 trenches because if it wasn't people could get lost or people could go places they weren't allowed and they could die
Trench warfare is where people or armies battle in trenches
