The largest number of victims were European Jews. About 250,000 Gypsies were killed and 10,000 to 15,000 homosexuals. At least a million Soviet POWs died as did 50,000 African and European Blacks. Jehovah's Witnesses, common criminals, political prisoners and random individuals also were killed.
Concentration camps are places where most of the victims of the Nazis were killed. The concentration camps were not a place where you could live and die peacefully. At these camps, the treatment was extremely harsh and cruel.
The world was affected by the Holocaust and rightly so.
Jews, gays, and pretty much anyone who wasn't perfect. Everyone was affected, not just Jews. Disabled people, Jehovah's Witnesses, Brown people. Any one who didn't have blond hair and blue eyes and was at least average looking, if you weren't than you were basically dead. This was very hypocritical as Hitler had brown hair and brown eyes, but he didn't approve of it!On a personal level, it gives us insight into the human spirit, both the dark and the light. On a collective level, it teaches us that anyone can lead and anyone can be led. Hopefully, its greatest lesson is that we can learn from mitakes and never repeat them.
The Holocaust refers to the highly mechanized and organized murder of primarily the Jewish people of German-occupied Europe during World War II. Although Jews were the main focus of the Holocaust, the Nazis also sent the following groups of people to their deaths at concentration camps and death camps: * Jews * Socialists * Jehova's Witnesses * Opponents ofNazi regime * Homosexuals - among other people. ___ The Holocaust wasn't about religion, it was about race and politics.
Slavs and to some degree negroes. Depending on whether you consider them ethnic groups or religious groups: Jews, Roma. __________ Actually, the bit about Slavs needs qualifying. If they did the Nazis' bidding and were 'Western' in outlook and Roman Catholic, they were not persecuted. For example, Slovakia and Croatia were allies of Nazi Germany.
About 11-17 million people died in the Holocaust (depending on the definition of Holocaust used). Unfortunately, there are competing definitions. It was actually the mass murder of six million Jews. There is no agreed definition of Holocaust survivor. Please see the related questions below.

The only races targeted for complete destruction were the Jews and the 'gypsies'. Many other groups were also targeted, but either were not ethnic groups (races) or were not targeted for completed destruction.
There were many groups of people not part of the holocaust, such as young children who weren't jews, elderly people who were jews, gypsies or disabled. But a part from that many people were! :(
i once printed out a paper of how many Jewish people died in the time of the holocaust but i lost it somewhere. sorry :(

They died.
No one fought in the holocaust. People died in the holocaust. People killed people in the holocaust. There was no fighting by men or women....but jsut because there was no fighting, don't think it was peaceful.
The Nazi Party of Germany allowed the Holocaust to happen so the German people would be unified against the Jewish people.
I wonder if you are confusing the Holocaust with World War 2? Raul Hilberg estimates the total number of Germans killed in the Holocaust as at most 300.
The amount of people that died during the holocaust was avout 12 million people. That is alot of people. frick
People of the Jewish faith died in the Holocaust. But the religion did not perish.
