This is not correct, Montgomery, Alabama was the first Confederate capital in 1862, Jefferson Davis was sworn in on the steps of the Montgomery Capital building. Also you can still visit the first confederate white house where Jeff Davis and his family lived before the southern capital was moved to Richmond, VA.
