School during WW2 was mostly chaotic! Punishments were disasters which could leave you in cuts and bruises! Sometimes WW2 children felt safer at school instead of home. Regularly they would have to go through a drill which was when the war siren would go off, they would quickly hide under a desk or run to the small school Anderson shelter!

just like having no adult males in your home but if you had a male teacher he would of went to fight the Japanese ,Italians or Germans.then he would be replaced by a female

until that male teacher came back. And all the male teachers could went to army and the whole school would have been full of female teachers.
