South Vietnam's social structure was similar to the US's social structure, except it was under extreme military influence due to the constant warring over the last 30 years; e.g. many people wore military clothing (surplus or otherwise), military surplus construction material covered civilian homes, bridges, roads, etc. South Vietnam was "supposed" to be structured (modeled after) along "free" country lines, such as the US, or any other NON-Communist country. E.g. freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of education, selling & trading (capitalism), etc. US personnel in country, were to respect those same social traditions, as they would in the United States.
Any traditional ingrained Vietnamese traditions were NOT interferred with by the US Government, unless they violated common sense human dignity laws. If the South Vietnamese Government expected to continue to receive US assistance, they had to comply with US Policies of human rights & dignity.
During the war, they were paper with Vietnamese civilians pictured on them.
US airmen flew through the most heavily defended targets in aviation history over North Vietnam during the war.
Post-communistic.
They were both wars against communism; its just Vietnam was a shooting war and the cold war was NOT a shooting war. Example (analogy)-It would be like two men arguing in a bar (as an example) about something (which would be the cold war) and then going outside and having a fist fight...or worse ( this would be Vietnam) about the same argument.
Like the US Civil War in the 1860s the Vietnam War in the 1960s divided America.
Hell
The social structure and gov. was like a porcupine waiting to be petted.

The social system in the Old South was a lot like a transplanted form of British aristocracy.
During the war, they were paper with Vietnamese civilians pictured on them.
This varies greatly by book and character, but social structure can be found in any story. They say "you write what you know". This is very true in this scenario , every author either accidentally or on purpose will present social structure as it was, as it is, or how they would like it to be.
Baby boomers were revolting against various issues, including the Vietnam War, social inequality, racial discrimination, and restrictive social norms. They sought greater social and political freedoms, leading to movements like the civil rights movement, women's rights movement, and the anti-war movement.
