The United States entered World War I, for the sole purpose for the defeat of Germany. Germany had ignored the United States' neutral stance, attacking its ships and citizens and finally, trying to persuade Mexico to attack the United States. Germany went down to defeat, therefore, the war aims of the United States were met.
