Tet is a Vietnamese holiday, and a cease fire for the event was put in place. of course, war has no rules (that's 'politically incorrect' but its true for the most part) and the Vietcong and "bad guys" launched an offensive to catch us off guard. and boy did it work! but we did recover from it.
