there was a war because the Austro-Hungarian Archduke was assassinated in Sarajevo and that is what brought Austro-Hungary into a war against Serbia, which caused a domino effect that brought the world to fight against one another.

Nationalism, military alliances, competitioin for colonies, and secret diplomacy were the four cause of the war. The assassination was the dynamite, that ignited the powder keg.

I think the austo-Hungarian government overreacted i mean sure Serbia killed there archduke but theres no reason to start a war over i..........gosh!
