I think the cause was by Christopher Columbus who "accidentally" landed in America and he thought he had found Asia and died thinking that he had reached Asia. This was only the beginning of The Columbian exchange. Soon explorers followed his routes and found America and they eagerly flocked back to Europe and began trading.They took domesticated animals. Like cows, sheep, pigs, goats, horses and chickens. Before this Indians had none of these domesticated animals, but they had turkey. Europeans also took plants, and disease with them. Like measels and smallpox which were only a few of the many disadvantages.

Columbus thought that he had found "Asia" but it was really The New World (America). Also, Europeans took items such as domestic animals. Plus, they also took diseases. Many explores took Columbus route to "Asia" (America).
