The Ticuna tribe are actually more advanced then you might think in terms of hunting. They have a basic diet however, consisting of monkey/bird and fish. Fish is the main source of protein in their diet - and also a good provider for income, because the Ticuna sell their fish to the non-Indian population.

They use their specialist canoes (built out of hollowed-out tree trunks). This is commonly practiced by the male members of the tribe. The Ticuna have developed an amazingly specialist fishing technique - they dip the end of a spear into poison, then throw it at a fish with startling accuracy. Something that modern fishermen definitely could not do.

They also use firearms to shoot monkeys and birds - but it is rare for more than one man to own a gun. Examples of monkeys they eat are: howler monkeys or lemurs.

Hope I helped!! x
