California is an expansive state with many major rivers. A few examples are: The Klamath River in the north, the Elk River a little to the south, the Sacramento River, the Santa Maria River, and The Los Angeles River.
Some landforms in the southern colonies included the Appalachian Mountains in the west, the Piedmont plateau region, and the coastal plains along the Atlantic Ocean. Bodies of water in the southern colonies included the Chesapeake Bay, the James River, and the Savannah River. These geographical features influenced settlement patterns, trade routes, and economic activities in the region.
Sugarcane was not a major cash crop in the South. Some of the major cash crops were cotton and tobacco.
