The Boston Tea Party! The Boston tea Party is not a tea party that we are used to! King George the Third was putting taxes on tea and the colonists didn't want it. The Sons of Liberty dressed as Native Americans and climbed aboard a ship delivering tea at the dead of night. They threw tea into the Boston Harbor! This is the famous Boston Tea Party!
December 16, 1773, is the date of the Boston Tea Party. This was during the American Revolution, and was a protest against the Tea Act of May 10, 1773. The protesters were the Sons of Liberty, who dressed up in disguise as Native Americans to board a ship sent by the East India Company. They then proceeded to dump the tea that was cargo on the ship into Boston Harbor. The tea was ruined, and the event became one of the most famous acts of the American Revolution.
