The Eastern Woodlands used plants for food. When they get some water, they use it for feeding villages or gardens or just drink it or use it for some food that will be needing water to taste good enough.

The tribes of the southeast had a vigorous trade in animal skins, Arts and Crafts, jewelry, wampum (shell beads), mica and food. When European powers began to trade with the tribes these items were supplanted by manufactured trade goods such as cloth, cookware, glass beads, scissors and weapons.
