there are so many differances between each decade...

the main one would have been the outbreak of fashion

there is also music - eg Beatlemaia

legalisation of homosexuality to males over 21

introduction of the contraceptive pill

legalisation to abortion

drug rise

and so many many more its actually ridiculous

the 60's was all about rebelling against the 50's convention.

In the USA:

No computers.

Not everyone had a TV. No color TV.

No satellites.

Racial Segregation was normal, though people were beginning to question it.

You had to go through an operator to call long distance. It was very expensive.

Gasoline was 5-10 cents/gallon.

A good annual salary was $6000.

A house cost about the same.

No seatbelts in cars, accidents that would be walk-away today were fatal.

Young men were being drafted into the military.

Rock Music was just beginning.

There were no interstate highways, or they were just being started.

People were afraid of the Soviet Union and "atomic war."

The French were in a war with Communists in their southeast Asian colony of Vietnam.

Most people knew their neighbors, but probably knew less about how people "not like them" lived.

The soldiers who fought WWII were getting college educations, getting married and having children. This was the "baby boom."
