The Kickapoo were originally woodland Indians living Wisconsin and Illinois. Eventually they were removed to Missouri and then to Kansas. Eventually many migrated to Texas and then the the mountains of Mexico. The government tried to induce many to return to Indian country in Oklahoma and some did. Others still remained in Mexico.
