The history of film spans over a hundred years, from the latter part of the 19th century to the beginning of the 21st century. Motion pictures developed gradually from a carnival novelty to one of the most important tools of communication and entertainment, and mass media in the 20th century. Motion picture films have had a substantial impact on the arts, technology, and politics.

How do people influence history?

By making it or changing the intentions of those who control it.

What causes the changes in history?

anything really. you just have to know we are making history now. what we are doing this very moment will become history. changes can be made at any time. say if john howard quit. htat would be a change in history. anything, anywhere could be a change to history. who knows, maybe me answering this question could become a huge change in the soon to be history.

Who is the master of history in the world?

This question presents a fallacy, making the question nearly impossible to answer without a point of reference. The world, is to broad in terms of defining "who is the master", making the title of "World History" useful only to high school textbooks. History of the world would technically encompass every aspect of physical and social environment on the planet. Who is the master of ethno-history, gender, feminist, political, religious, Marxist, modernism, postmodernism orientalism or psycho history could have plausible answers. These various fields of history contain a historiography that could be evaluated in determining "who the mater is" in each particular discipline within each context.

How can history help us understand the world?

If you can understand all the trends and mistakes humans have made, history can help us by preventing making the same ones. We could understand how we do things and the purpose for doing them... read a lot of books and stay in school.

How do you know about the past?

If you look back on the past, you can see what kind of mistakes mankind has made. We can see what all happened leading up to that point. If we familiarize ourselves with history, we can avoid making the same mistakes again. This is true for different types of history, whether it's your own history or the history of a nation.
