There are a number of factors which contributed to the rise of nationalism in southern Rhodesia which includes, force labor , loss of political independence, loss of land, loss of cattle , settler brutality , colonial education, urbanization which led to migration of different groups of people of different ethnic orientation uniting together to fight colonialism
