Women wore corsets and petticoats. The wealthier women wore panniers, a type of undergarment that would extend the skirt of one's gown out to each side and of course women would wear bloomers and garters.

Men wore thick, usually white, stockings with knee breeches. The wealthier men would wear silk breeches. Under either a frock coat or waistcoat they would wear a white linen shirt (usually).

Both men and women would wear plumed tricorn hats along with many other types of head-wear(bicorn, etc).... Powdered wigs were also worn by both genders. The taller the wig, the wealthier the person. Vibrant colors and floral patterns were also worn by both. French fashion was very bold and bright for both men and women with stripes, bows, etc... Hot pinks, bright blues, vivid greens and scarlet reds were "in" during that period... England had a much more reserved sense of fashion and colors for royalty were downgraded.

Wealthy women would have birdcages, massive plumes or even a model ship in/on their wigs. Men essentially wore bows in their wigs.

I hope that helped.
