Life was actually pretty advanced during the early era of the Indus Valley civilizations.

  • Some houses had wells
  • There were bathrooms at many residences, and they were connected to public sewage
  • Underground Plumbing went through some cities
  • Well planned urban systems
  • They had their own writing system
  • Standardized weight measurements
  • Peaceful, very little weapons were discovered and no evidence of an army
  • Straight brick roads
  • Engineered protection from floods
  • 9 out of 10 people were farmers or traders

The civilization started to decline around 1800 BCE, and many of these things began to break down.
